Myspace, Buzznet, Facebook and updates!!

Thu Nov 8, 2007, 12:15 PM
hello one and all...
it's been a while since I've done any updating so here's whats going on with me...

basically I go to school and go to work and go to sleep...lol..
I'm taking 4 classes this semester and working 30+ hrs a week on top of it [I work at a camera store].....both school and work are anywhere from 40 min to an hour away from my house and both are in opposite directions of each other, so I also spend quite a bit of time driving as well....lol...
I haven't really been able to take a lot of pictures lately, but hopefully now that my schedule is pretty set, I can figure out some ways to make a little time to do that more often....
other than that, not a whole lot has changed here....I'll most likely still be at community college next semester, but I am in the process of looking at schools [more specifically a few art schoools] for next fall....I hope I can get something good worked out!!

ALSO...I wanted to mention that I have a whole mess of other online profiles at different sites so I just wanted to put them out there for you all to check out and add if you have them too!

and one last note......
I know dA advocates will probably not like me saying this and I guess it is a bit ironic to be saying this in a dA blog, lol, but if anyone is or has been interested in buying any of my prints...I would actually prefer that you do so straight through me instead of through dA.......for multiple reasons...a few of them being
1. as I'm sure most of you know, the artist gets practically no profit from dA sales
2. Since I work in a camera store that does printing, that allows me to be able to make your print myself, making sure that it is cropped properly for the size ratio, making sure that it looks good color wise, and since I will be shipping it myself, also making sure that it is shipped properly and securely
3. Again, since I work at the store I would be printing the pictures in, I get a decent employee discount which allows me to sell them to you at the dA price or most likely cheaper...

it just seems like an altogether better system to me....

as far as payment goes... I would most likely have you use the paypal button I have posted on my photography myspace page [you don't need a myspace account to see it] to pay me with......if you ARE interested in purchasing prints through me, just send me a note on here or message me on any of my other online accounts and let me know which picture[s], what size[s], and how many and I'll give you the total cost to put in through paypal....

feel free to message me with any other questions about this or anything else you would like to ask....or just drop in and say Hi if you like!!

hope you all have a lovely weekend

fall cleaning [TLA]

I will begin by first introducing The Love Alliance.

"The Love Alliance is an organization that works to educate people on the many issues of social justice. It is our goal to form a community of people who educate themselves on such social justice issues as world poverty, the AIDs epidemic, modern-day slavery, etc., and then take steps to make a real difference.

It is our hope that few voices will become many. That these voices will band together to address the world's greatest atrocities and bring about positive change. "

That quote is taken from their myspace and I figured they could explain themselves better than I could....

The moment that I visited their website I immediately wanted to get involved. There was something different about them--about their attitude, and it made me want to help. They didnt seem like some trendy corporation of a thing who's more about making it look cool to help than to actually help. And the issues they addressed were real and valid...not only things that were actually happening in the world, but things that were possible to change. Maybe that was it--they made it seem possible to change some of these things--these big, real, overwhelming problems in the world.

So the point of this blog is to challenge you all to no. 1.) go check out The Love Alliance...and no. 2.) start doing something about the information you recieve....you can't plead ignorance anymore! These problems are everywhere, not just halfway across the world....

But the strange part, the part that doesn't make any sense, is that there are so many of us that are more than capable of addressing these issues and doing something to help them yet very few do. why? it doesn't make any sense when you stop to think about it does it? There are people who are sick and hungry and poor and enslaved and in need of some form or another...and you can help. yeah..YOU. You as in you....not the general public, not the nation, not the community....you. Maybe you won't be able to fix the world all on your own, but you can certainly make a significant, positive difference in at least one life, and very possibly many. And so can I....and so can so many of us who are choosing to do nothing about it....so what are you going to do about it?

The Love Alliance can help you with that question if you like.....they are helping people to help others.....one way is through their monthly action projects. Each month, they will have a new action for you to take to get directly involved with meeting some need. These things aren't even hard...they are simple and possible for just about anyone. You dont need tons of money or free time to do this stuff.

The current action project is the "fall cleaning". What you do is go through all your clothes, sort out the ones you dont wear anymore, and give them to people who need them. That's it. It's so simple and so easy and it helps out so many people. Why wouldnt you do it? They even provide links on their myspace page and on their website that can help you find places in your area to drop off these clothes you are donating.

I've gone through all mine and came up with almost two full trash bags of clothes to give. I haven't weighed it yet, but I'm curious to see how much it will be cause those things are heavy! lol..

So before I cause you guys to stop reading because this thing is too long (people dont read anymore! why is that?), I'll end it here. Visit The Love Alliance's site. Educate yourself. Do something about it.

" 'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" --Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV)

Ok so I was tagged by the lovely Mrs. Dracula -->>:iconmrs-dracula9274: [link]
so now I must obey! lol...here goes..

The rules:

the 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "6 weird habits/things/hates about yourself" and people who get tagged MUST write a journal about their 6 weird habits/things/hates as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their devpage comments and tell them to read yours.

1. I am ADDICTED to coca cola
2. I sing all the time and I am terrible at it. lol. I've always wanted to sing and wished I could though...
3. I'm extremely messy
4. I used to be super super shy when I was younger...and have gotten alot better but am still shy in a weird way with certain people..
5. I love the 90's :giggle:
6. I have worse eating habits then any human ever should have

Africa and myspace

Tue Apr 24, 2007, 12:01 AM
Oookaaay..a couple things I want to mention here...

first up...I am trying to be able to go on a mission trip to Tanzania, Africa this July with my church [Oak Grove Baptist]. I know, exciting right? I have been on three other mission trips before (twice to El Salvador and once to Mississippi), and Africa is somewhere I have felt called to go for a long time now, so I am really excited about the opportunity God has given me. We will be leading worship at Mt. Meru University, visiting and working with children at the Samaritan Orphanage (the orphanage that takes care of children left in dumpsters), working with the Masai tribe, and painting and doing some light construction at a public school as well as leading a worship service there.. This trip is rather expensive though..about $3000--$3200 to be exact. This amount also becomes financially binding for us by the end of April, meaning if we don't get the money by then we have to pay it anyway. The main (& pretty much only) source I have for getting this money is through donations. If any of you would like to donate any amount to help me be able to go I would be so incredibly appreciative of that :). Seriously ANY amoutn helps, even if it's $10. Also, please pray for us! Pray for our strength, health, and courage on this intense and exciting trip :]. I really really really want to be a part of this trip. I can't do it on my own, but I am still planning on going with the faith that God will provide the way. :]

**If you DO wish to donate I have a paypal button on my myspace site that will let you do it right over the internet (you don't need a paypal account)....my myspace link is here--->> [link] ...message/comment me on here if you have any other questions about donating or just the trip in general! :)

Secondly...speakingof myspace...I just made a new separate myspace account just for my photography :D...it is called Silent Scream Photography (though I'm not sure the name is permanent yet)...If any of you have myspace add me!!..or if you just wanna check it out, the link is here ---->> [link] (this is not the same as the link I gave earlier to my personal account..)

Thanks for taking the time to read this...hope you all have a great week :D
